A Legacy of Giving
Research and education were at the heart of José and Josy’s values. They advocated for opportunities for the advancement of research and education in several ways.
To honor his parents, José and Josy created the Laib and Rachel Rabinowitz Memorial Scholarship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. They also created the Drs. Josephine F. and Joseph L. Rabinowitz Scholarship at University of the Sciences.
José and Josy funded their legacy project, The Joseph and Josephine Rabinowitz Award for Excellence in Research. The winners are announced annually at Penn Dental Medicine’s Research Day. The faculty and staff also voted to honor José by naming a keynote address as The Joseph L Rabinowitz Memorial Lecture.
The family also created The Dr. Joseph L. Rabinowitz Fund for Pancreatic Cancer Research, which has supported the work of Dr. Bert Vogelstein.
