Josy's Life in Our Words

Dr. Josephine (Josy) Rabinowitz (February 5, 1924 – September 5, 2015) approached life and all she did with passion, determination, deeply entrenched values, and certainty of her beliefs. She was a totally devoted wife to José and a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend.

She was a dedicated teacher always looking out for the wellbeing of her students in all aspects of their lives. Her talents included being a concert level pianist and a prolific writer of poetry and prose.

She was a life-long learner who believed that education is never wasted who earned her doctorate at age 69. She relished big projects requiring extensive personal research. This culminated in an extensive family contact directory and family trees for all four branches of José's and her ancestors.

Josy made deep and lasting connections with people of widely diverse backgrounds who considered her a dear friend. Those relationships were very important to her, and she worked hard to maintain them.
